Special Reserve Roasted
Special Reserve coffees are almost exclusively sourced from Mercanta. They are the finest coffees from single farms, estates and co-operatives around the coffee producing world. These are distinctive and superior beans that stand on their own without blending and reflect the profile of a region as well as coffees that challenge and surprise us.A selection of some of the world's best single origin coffees roasted to draw out their unique varietal characteristics. All of these coffees are fairly and ethically traded beans, either through Mercanta or through our own contacts. Packaging. All roasted beans are packed in zip lock, one-way valve coffee pouches, and are available in 250g, 500g and 1000g sizes. Ground coffee? Not a problem! All roasted coffee here is available ground for plunger/percolator or drip/stovetop. Read more about the pros and cons of pre-grinding here

BSCA Espresso Blend No. 1
A delightful green blend that stands on it's own as a rich, complex coffee.
Cupping Notes:
Smooth, velvety, nutty, creamy with hints of dark chocolate.
Colombia Finca La Bella Estate
Cupping Notes:
Green apple acidity, clean transparent cup, some notes of caramel, full body with notes of macadamia nuts.
From a single estate (very unusual for Columbia) located in Botaga near capital.

Costa Rica Finca Las Lajas Organic
This mircolot is a "miel" or "honey" coffee, meaning that some of the fruit is allowed to dry on the parchment layer on the patio. It actually looks quite unimpressive as green coffee, but roasts up evenly and has a clean, sweet flavor profile.
Cupping profile and tasting notes:
All roasted coffee is packed in sealed, ono-way valve foil bags for maximum freshness.
Orange citrus acidity. Pronounced sweetness and notes of blackcurrants. Very syrupy, perfumed, and treacly with long lingering finish

Ethiopian Yirgacheffe Cabey
Cupping notes:
Crisp citrus acidity, notes of tangerine, lemon, rose petals, jasmine, pure transparent with soft sugar sweetness
Guatamala Finca Santa Clara
Cupping profile and tasting notes:
Transparent, bright acidity, excellent fruit quality, hints of peaches and apricots, silky mouth feel, very well balanced. Good for espresso and filter.
Guatemala Finca Las Nubes
Cupping profile and tasting notes:
Fine acidity, medium body, lemon smooth, with red berry notes. Beautifully prepared. Consistent.
Kenya Tinganga Estate AA
Cupping notes:
Vibrant grape acidity, bold mouth feel, sugar cane sweetness, notes of tropical fruit, pineapple, grapefruit and very clean.
SRS Blend
Sadly, two of the three beans in the blend are now unavailable. So until we see if the next crop cycle brings the same (or better) quality, SRS Blend is all gone for the forseeable future. This is a remarkable premium blend of three of the outstanding Special Reserve coffees in the Ministry Grounds store.
The result in the cup is an intense and rich foundation, followed by creamy sweetness and fruit acidity, with a lovely lingering sweet finish.
