Sadly, two of the three beans in the blend are now unavailable. So until we see if the next crop cycle brings the same (or better) quality, SRS Blend is all gone for the forseeable future.
This is a remarkable premium blend of three of the outstanding Special Reserve coffees in the Ministry Grounds store:
Brazil Inglaterra – Toca da Onça
Giving the blend mild acidity, medium body, notes of honey and sugar cane, pronounced sweetness
El Salvador Finca La Fany
For intense sweetness, beautiful mouthfeel and balanced brightness
Guatamala Finca La Perla
bringing bright acidity and notes of red fruit, bold mouthfeel
The result in the cup is an intense and rich foundation, followed by creamy sweetness and fruit acidity, with a lovely lingering sweet finish.
An important note about this blend:
It really does require a full six days rest post-roast to reach it's peak - so order well ahead.
This blend will only be available for as long as I have stock of these beans - although it may well evolve as new crops or substitute beans become available.
And I have to give full credit to Steve Leighton of Hasbean.co.uk for the inspiration for this blend.
As Steve says about a blend like this, It should be:
1. Good in other brew methods as well as in espresso.
2. Good in a cheaper home machine as well as a top of the range commercial machine.
3. Good across a range of temperatures and extraction times; it should be forgiving.
4. Just totally tasty.
